IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING COPYRIGHT:
We appreciate the work you put into creating engaging and aesthetically pleasing promotional materials for your events and programs. As you create posters, advertisements, social media posts or any public materials, please remember that using copyrighted images, video or audio content without appropriate permissions can result in fines and legal action.
Copyright laws protect creators and their works. To ensure we respect intellectual property, please apply the following guidelines.
-
Use Original Images: If possible, create your own images or graphics. This is the best way to ensure content meets your needs and poses no copyright risks.
-
Royalty-Free Resources: There are many websites, Pixabay for example, that offer royalty-free images.
-
Seek Permission: If you have your heart set on a specific image, reach out to the creator or copyright holder to request permission. Many are willing to grant it for educational or promotional purposes.
It’s easy to think our small parishes, schools or organizations won’t be caught using copyrighted content, but there are companies who exist solely to enforce copyrights and find violations, and they are searching the content we’re creating and sharing.
To ensure our copyright compliance moving forward, we will no longer accept any flyers or promotional materials containing graphics or images of any kind for eNotes or social media distribution. We’ll still be using approved graphics/images in the promotion of diocesan, statewide and national events and programs.
We sincerely appreciate your attention to this matter.

MOVING THE NEEDLE ON FAMILY FAITH FORMATION: For pastors, catechists, families
Church documents are clear, and research is mounting about the urgency of parent involvement to effectively pass on faith to our children. This session will share why family engagement is essential and suggest strategies and models parishes can implement that integrate the family into traditional religious education. It will offer practical ways and examples of how to encourage family faith practices and how to accompany and coach parents, through ideas that resonate with families to nurture faith. Join us Saturday, October 12, from 9 a.m to 3:30 p.m. at St. Agnes School in Lake Placid to consider the “why” of family faith formation and ideas of “how” to do just that!

SAFE ENVIRONMENT CORNER:
Did You Know…that children rarely lie about sexual abuse. Fewer than five percent of children’s allegations are intentionally false. When children talk about child sexual abuse, we must give them the benefit of the doubt, and always treat it seriously and carefully. The way we respond can have a direct impact on the child’s healing journey. To learn more about the way we must listen, react, and respond, attend a VIRTUS training session or contact the Safe Environment Office at (315) 393-2920.

These will be raffled as a first, second and third prize raffle with the drawing taking place after 4p.m. Mass on December 21. Like the afghan these are amazing creations.
Tickets for each raffle are $5 a piece, or 5 for $20.
