Job Description:
Purpose:
To supervise and be responsible for the general health
and safety of campers and staff.
To improve health care skills of campers.
Qualifications:
Physician, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or
Registered Nurse
Readiness and ability to adapt to camp work situation
Interest and ability to inspire confidence in children. Awareness of potential health and safety hazards and
ways to control them. Experience with children. Willingness to reside on the campsite during full or
weekly camp session.
Responsibilities:
1. Comply with personnel policies for camp staff
2. Work closely with Camp Director and Camp Dietitian;
see that a balanced level of activity is maintained and nutritional requirements are met
3. Ensure that all necessary medical supplies are
available for camp
4. Notify Camp Director when parents should be advised
of serious illness or accident
5. Supervise camper blood testing, insulin
administration, dosage adjustment, and medical
needs
6. Meet with Camp Director and camp staff periodically
throughout camp session
7. Arrange for screening of staff and campers upon
arrival at camp
8. Review completed camper medical information sheet.
9. Meet with or otherwise directly provide information
to parents of prospective campers regarding
medical aspects of camp
10. Alert staff to special needs of campers and those
with multiple problems

REQUIREMENTS CAMP HEALTH DIRECTOR
Supervises health
and sanitation at children's camp. Maintains camper's
confidential medical history. Oversees initial
health screening of campers and daily health surveillance of camp occupants. Handles health
emergencies and injuries, including emergency preparedness and provisions for professional
health care. Maintains camp's
daily medical log. Reports required
incidents to local health department within 24 hours.

During the camp season, the camp director must live onsite and is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the camp including staff orientation week and six weekly camper sessions. (June 20th to August 11th, 2024) An applicant must be an active practicing Catholic of at least 25 years of age with 24 weeks of camp administrative or supervisory experience or an equivalent experience which would support the position. Summer Camp Guggenheim is an opportunity
for young people to Grow in Faith, Connect with Friends, and Explore the
Outdoors in a safe and nurturing environment. We
are currently looking for counselors to live and work at Summer Camp Guggenheim
during the 2023 summer season (June 22nd - August 11th).
Counselors are responsible for supervising and mentoring campers while
facilitating a safe environment in which campers can make friends, have fun,
grow in faith and explore the outdoors. Counselors motivate campers and
are expected to support and participate in all camp activities. Counselors have
a strong relationship with our Lord and are comfortable discussing and sharing
their faith. All counselors are assigned to a specific program depending upon
their interests and abilities. Counselors also take part in many work projects
that keep our program running and get us ready for the next session. This is a
seasonal paid position with room and board included.
The best counselors have the following traits:
Required:
A Guggenheim counselor candidate must be
a High School graduate, 18 years or older, have a minimum of one year of
college or workforce experience.
Participated in a counselor training program (E.G., Teen Vision) or
worked as a Youth Counselor or in a Youth Leadership program. A counselor candidate should be a practicing
Catholic who is willing to share their Faith with youth ages 11 to 18 yrs.
