BROWNBAG SERIES: Lunchtime Discussion via Zoom
The Office of New Evangelization will be running a new Brownbag Chat starting Wednesday, March 23 from noon-1pm via Zoom. We will use the Revive Parishes Series by Chris Stefanick on Evangelization. We anticipate running the series in about 10 sessions. In each session, we will watch a video together via zoom and then have an informal discussion.
Description of the Series:
Evangelization with Chris Stefanick: We are all on a mission. Do you know what it is? Have you planned the goals and oriented your life to achieve it? Pope Paul VI famously said, "the Church exists to evangelize" - that is, to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ and make disciples.
Spreading the Gospel and inviting others into a relationship with Christ is not just the priest's job; it is the responsibility of all baptized Catholics. What does that look like in our modern world? How do we do it effectively? Let renowned speaker, writer, and expert Chris Stefanick teach you his tried and true methods of spreading the Gospel, that is, evangelization. In his three hour course, Chris breaks down the why, the how, and the what of effective ministry to help Catholics of all backgrounds fulfill the Church's mission.
If you would like to join us this series of lunch-time chat discussions, please sign up online at https://www.rcdony.org/brownbag . For more information, contact Marika Donders at mdonders@rcdony.org

ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP:
for the February March 19/20 Bulletin
Lenten Green Tip: Take a few minutes to breathe deeply and become aware of the communion of air shared by all breathing things. This can be a kind of fasting not only save money, but it will allow all creation to feast on a better quality of life.

In these chilly and often damp days of early spring, find some warmer clothes instead of turning up the heat. This kind of fasting from using more fuel can enable us to feast on what we have in our clothes closets and be grateful.

Mary Immaculate, our Mother and our Patroness,
we ask you to intercede for us with your Son,
as you did at the wedding in Cana.
Pray for us, loving Mother,
and gain for our diocese, our nation and our world,
for our families and loved ones,
the protection of your Maternal mantle from this dreaded virus.
In this time of trial and testing,
teach all of us to love one another and to be patient and kind.
Help us to bring the peace and healing Presence of Jesus to our land and to our hearts.
We come to you with confidence,
knowing that you are our compassionate mother,
health of the sick and cause of our joy.
Keep us in the embrace of your arms,
Help us always to know the love of your Son, Jesus our Lord.

ON OUR KNEES PRAYER CAMPAIGN: United in prayer for the Dobbs Supreme Court Case
October 22 - June 22 all are asked to pray for the protection of life in our nation.
Background: January 22, 1973: Roe v Wade Supreme Court decision began the era of abortion on demand in the USA.

The law was challenged and the case, known as Dobbs v Jackson Women’s Health Organization, is being heard by the Supreme Court.
• Dobbs v Jackson is a landmark case that could potentially overturn the decision of Roe v Wade. The possibility for future laws protecting the unborn hangs in the balance.
• December 1, 2021: oral arguments for the case were heard. A decision is expected in June 2022. More information at www.prayfordobbs.com
