UPDATED

SUMMER CAMP GUGGENHEIM: Registration is now open for the 2021 Summer Season

COVID-19 Update 2021:

We were excited to hear that our New York State Government has given permission for summer sleepaway camps, like Camp Guggenheim to open in 2021. At this time, how camp will look is unclear. The New York State Department of Health has not released information on the health and safety protocols that will need to be in place if camp opens. However, we do know that Camp Guggenheim will not operate as it has in past years due to the impact of Covid-19.

Camp Guggenheim will be able to open if we are able to implement the NYSDOH safety protocols and if we have a sufficient number of parents who register their children for camp. We will be working with the CDC and the NYSDOH to ensure a safe camp experience that is faith-filled and fun.

If you have any questions and/or concerns please feel free to reach out to Tom Semeraro, Diocesan Director of Youth Ministry Tom can be reached by phone at 315-393-2920 ext. 1415 or email tsemeraro@rcdony.org

SAFE ENVIRONMENT CORNER: Did you know?

Did You Know…Prudence is the virtue to which a person is disposed to discern the good and best action(s) and select the means to accomplish such outcomes. Prudence allows a person to know just what to do and how to put this knowledge into right action. Prudence helps us to plan our time and resources rightly. It helps us to balance our choices of leisure and self-care. Like other virtues, prudence often grows when there is a decision to foster its growth.

ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP: Fast to Feast

for the April 3/4 Bulletin

May Christ Easter in us! Spring is a permanent word of hope. It always comes. No matter how long or fierce the winter, Spring forces its way through the tons of ice and snow. Creation never dies, nor does Christ, nor do we. After all the savage cold and shattering wind, the earth grows green with hope.
No matter how horrible the death, how unbearable the pain or absolute the rejection, despite the tons of stone and dirt against the tomb, Easter happens and life grows green as all the forces of death are exhausted. (Joyce Rupp) What 'new life' are you experiencing around you and within you this Easter?

NEW

ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP:

for the April 10/11 Bulletin

What time is it? Eastertime is a springtime not only for our souls, but for the earth. It is a time for planting new seeds of hope for the future. Planting a tree this spring can be a ‘seed of hope.’ Native American Chief Qwatsinas, gives us this advise,  "We must protect the forests for our children, grandchildren and children yet to be born. We must protect the forests for those who cannot speak for themselves such as the birds, animals, fish and trees." Where could you/your family plant a tree at home, in your parish, in your community, at school this spring?

200329 mary

Mary Immaculate, our Mother and our Patroness,
we ask you to intercede for us with your Son,
as you did at the wedding in Cana.

Pray for us, loving Mother,
and gain for our diocese, our nation and our world,
for our families and loved ones,
the protection of your Maternal mantle from this dreaded virus.

In this time of trial and testing,
teach all of us to love one another and to be patient and kind.
Help us to bring the peace and healing Presence of Jesus to our land and to our hearts.

We come to you with confidence,
knowing that you are our compassionate mother,
health of the sick and cause of our joy.
Keep us in the embrace of your arms,
Help us always to know the love of your Son, Jesus our Lord.

AMEN.
