LEARN HOW TO PRAY THE MASS WITH YOUR HEART: A virtual life-changing opportunity

The next Friendship Group meeting will be held on Thursday, October 19 at 7 p.m. Eastern Time via Zoom. Father Leland Thorpe, OMV will talk with us about the book A Biblical Way of Praying the Mass by Father Tim Gallagher, OMV and answer your questions.

To help you fully tap into the abundance of grace offered at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, Father Gallagher resurrects the teachings of Venerable Bruno Lanteri. A holy priest seeking to root himself in prayer during the turbulence of war and persecution in northern Italy, Venerable Bruno developed a biblical way of praying the Mass that transforms it into a true prayer of the heart.
Through a selection of biblical figures, he invites you to live each part of the Mass with these figures' sentiments and hearts. In these pages he shows you how to:

*Humbly seek forgiveness like the tax collector
*Give glory to God like the angels
*Listen to God's Word with the hunger of a disciple
*Profess the Faith with the courage of the martyrs
*Receive communion with the heart of a lover
*Go forth from the Mass with the zeal of an Apostle

To fruitfully pray the Mass from the heart is a gift of grace. The biblical way of praying the Mass method is a means to dispose your soul to receive this grace.

If you have ever attended Mass and desired that it more fully touch your heart, this book is for you.

If you haven't signed up for the Friendship Groups, here is the link: https://mailchi.mp/sophiainstitute/friendship-groups

Once you have signed up, you will receive updates, including the Zoom link and discussion questions, about a week prior to the meeting.

The book may be ordered at sophiainstitute.com For more information, please contact Mary Beth Bracy at: mbracy@sophiainstitute.com

JESUS IS CALLING YOU!: A special prayer opportunity

Holy Cross Parish will be offering extended Eucharistic Adoration hours on Friday, October 20, Saturday, October 21, and Sunday, October 22, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at St. Peter's in Plattsburgh (except during Mass times). This will take place the same weekend as the New York State Eucharistic Congress in Auriesville,  so we can unite in adoring the Real Presence of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist exposed in the monstrance.

"The greatest love story of all time is contained in a tiny white Host." (Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen)

Jesus is inviting you to spend a special hour with Him. More information and sign-up sheets are located at the entrance of St. Peter's Church. Help ignite the Eucharistic Revival by giving him the gift of your presence at Adoration. Invite a friend and share your faith in the Real Presence with others.
