WORLD DAY OF PRAYER FOR THE SANCTIFICATION OF PRIESTS-JUNE 16, 2023
All pastors, catechists, principals

Bulletin Announcement:
World Day for the Sanctification of Priests takes place every year on the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. This day is celebrated on Friday, June 16, 2023. On this special feast, let us pray for your parish priest and for all the priests of the Diocese of Ogdensburg. May our prayer be for their continual growth in holiness, their sanctification that configures them to the Person of Jesus Christ. Every day our priests pray for us and for our intentions as they preside over Mass, hear confessions, baptize, or bury our loved ones. Our priests need our prayers. Take time to tell them that you are praying for them and thank them for their dedication. You never know what your parish priest or pastor is going through, sacrificing out of love for his parishioners.

Mass Announcement:
Today is the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and World Priest Day, which is a day set aside to pray for priests, so we encourage each of you to pray in a special way today for Father______________ that he is strengthened and renewed each day as he serves as a priest of Jesus Christ.
Prayers of the Faithful
For Father_______, our (pastor, associate pastor) in his ministry to the People of (parish name), that the Holy Spirit will come down upon him and light his heart anew for the priesthood, we pray to the Lord.
That we may never take the presence of our priests for granted, as we cherish the celebration of the Mass and are nourished by the Eucharist, we pray to the Lord.
Prayer for Bulletin
Sacred Heart of Jesus, protect our priest_____in the midst of his work at our parish______________. Comfort him in his afflictions. Give him health of body, assistance in his temporal needs, and your blessing on all that he does. We ask the Holy Spirit to come down and light his heart anew for the priesthood and help him to grow in holiness.

SAFE ENVIRONMENT CORNER: Did you know? ...

Did You Know…nearly 43% of students ages 13-17 say they have been victims of cyberbullying. The following are some tips for how to prevent and respond to cyber bullying: (1) know your child’s password and check their accounts periodically; (2) apply the Golden Rule to electronic communications – treat others as we would want to be treated; and (3) think before posting since all electronic messages and pictures can be copies or forwarded, and even altered. For more information on cyber bulling, contact the Safe Environment Office at (315) 393-2920.

GRANT FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES: Attn. Pastors

The Diocese of Ogdensburg annually offers two grants of $5,000 each to assist the parishes and institutions of the Diocese in providing assistance for people with disabilities.
