FROM THE IT DIRECTOR: Tips on how to spot Spoofing Emails
Email spoofing is the forgery of an email header so that the message appears to have originated from someone other than the actual source (usually someone you know). It is often used to trick people in giving up information or send money.
Don’t trust the display name, always look at the from email address to make sure it is a real email that you know.
Check for spelling mistakes
Don’t give up personal information
Beware of urgent or threatening language in the subject line
If you are not sure, call the person or send them an email to ask them. Don't reply to the suspect email, send them a new email to the address you have in your contacts.

Religious freedom means that Catholics, and all people of goodwill, are free to seek the truth and to live in accordance with that truth, and so to strengthen our common life as a nation. Beginning June 22, the Feast of Saints Thomas More and John Fisher, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops celebrates Religious Freedom Week. In the midst of our current challenges, join us as we seek the kingdom and find Strength in Hope. Learn more at www.usccb.org/ReligiousFreedomWeek

PLANNED GIVING: Memorare Legacy Society
Have you already or have been thinking about leaving a legacy by designating a portion of your assets to pass at death to the Diocese of Ogdensburg, your parish or school or diocesan program or organization? The Memorare Legacy Society honors and recognizes the generosity and vision of those who have chosen to leave a legacy to the Diocese of Ogdensburg through estate or deferred gifts. Members of this society are those who have informed the Diocese of a planned gift that, in the future, will benefit the Diocese of Ogdensburg or any of its parishes or programs. This ensures a continuous commitment of care to their Church, to the Church’s vision and to the charitable works that flow from her missions through their thoughtful planned gift. For more information on the Memorare Legacy Society, contact: Scott Lalone, Executive Director, Development Office 393-2920, slalone@rcdony.org.
