RELIGIOUS FREEDOM WEEK: June 22-29

Religious freedom gives us the space to carry out the mission that Jesus has entrusted to the Church. Religious freedom means that Catholics, and all people of goodwill, are free to seek the truth and to live in accordance with that truth, and so to strengthen our common life as a nation. Beginning June 22, the Feast of Saints Thomas More and John Fisher, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops celebrates Religious Freedom Week. In the midst of our current challenges, join us as we seek the kingdom and find Strength in Hope. Learn more at www.usccb.org/ReligiousFreedomWeek

FROM THE IT DIRECTOR: Tips on how to spot Spoofing Emails

Don’t trust the display name, always look at the from email address to make sure it is a real email that you know.

Check for spelling mistakes

Don’t give up personal information

Beware of urgent or threatening language in the subject line

If you are not sure, call the person or send them an email to ask them. Don't reply to the suspect email, send them a new email to the address you have in your contacts.

71ST ANNUAL KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS PILGRIMAGE: A day of family prayer and summer enjoyment

On Sunday, July 21st Knights of Columbus, families and friends from throughout the Diocese of Ogdensburg will participate in the 71st annual pilgrimage to St. Anne’s Shrine in Isle LaMotte, Vermont. The pilgrimage begins with the celebration of a 12:15 PM Mass by Most Reverend Terry R. LaValley. Following Mass, Bishop LaValley will join the pilgrims for a picnic lunch on the shrine’s beautiful grounds. Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament will take place at 3:00 PM.

All pilgrims are invited to the picnic lunch and if practical asked to bring a dish to share. The Knights of Columbus will provide hot dogs, michigans, hamburgers and beverages. Lunch is also available in the shrine’s cafeteria.

Located on the shores of Lake Champlain, only a few miles from the Rouses Point Bridge, the St. Anne’s Shrine’s religious history dates to 1666 when the French erected a fort and chapel on the site. The chapel was blessed in 1893 and a beautiful statue of St. Anne, the mother of Mary, was erected.

For more information please call Pilgrimage Coordinator Peter Keenan at 518-643-9241.
