IMPORTANT TPMS UPDATE: Pontifical Mission Societiesin the United States
Pontifical Mission Societies in the United States (TPMS USA), the global network supporting Pope Francis' missionary efforts through prayer and charity, has unveiled a new visual identity. This milestone marks a renewed commitment to unifying the four Pontifical Mission Societies under a shared purpose: bringing the Gospel to the world.
The new circular logo emphasizes unity: unity with Christ on the Cross and in the Eucharist, unity within the universal Church and her missionary efforts, unity with the Holy Father, and unity across the four societies comprising TPMS: the Society for the Propagation of the Faith, the Missionary Childhood Association, the Society of St. Peter the Apostle, and the Pontifical Missionary Union.
The red stars represent the United States’ connection to the global mission and honor the sacrifices of martyrs, many of whom were missionaries who made the ultimate sacrifice as they were spreading the joy of the Gospel. We are excited to share them with you and hope that you will continue to support The Pontifical Mission Societies of the Diocese of Ogdensburg, INC. in the coming years.

FINDING THE ONE: Spring Workshop at Holy Cross Church, Dewitt, Syracuse
It’s no secret, the fastest growing population in our Church, sadly, are those who have left the Church. These may include our grown children, a spouse, a parent or grandparent, another relative, or a close friend. No generation has been immune from this departure.
Let’s turn our sadness into HOPE by taking a deep dive into understanding that God works through everyone - including YOU - to act as His hand, open and outstretched, to meet people where they are, ready to listen to their story, joyfully prepared for an encounter with our sisters and brothers who have left, to welcome them home.
In addition to the variety of speakers for this event, we are honored to have Bishop Douglas Lucia as our keynote speaker. Mark your calendar for Saturday, March 22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Holy Cross Church in DeWitt. There is no cost for this event and lunch will be served. To Register click HERE or scan the QR code on the flyer. For more information, contact: Deacon Jeff Dixe: jdixe@syrdio.org

ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP:
for the February 2 Bulletin
Signs of HOPE: In this Jubilee Year focusing on HOPE, what are some signs of hope that you see around you that give you hope for a healthier, cleaner earth that we have been entrusted with by God? For example, fewer plastic grocery bags, fewer styrofoam take-out containers, more options in stores for products made from recyclable materials, farms providing renewable energy. How many more can you name? Give thanks to God for those people who have made these options possible.

BECOME YOUR BEST SELF: BUILD A CLOSER RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD AND OTHERS: Next Friendship Group on January 23 at 7 p.m. via Zoom
Imagine the best conversation you’ve ever had — one that set your heart on fire, challenged your thinking, brought you closer to God, and inspired you to act. Recall how that conversation made you feel and how it changed your heart and your life. Such interactions rise to the level of the sacred — sacred conversations — dialogues that transform hearts, strengthen relationships, and make the world a better place by converting compassionate love into action.
Using Scripture, real-world examples, key scientific studies, and stories from his own formation, Dr. Reed provides approachable, fun-filled, well-researched advice on how you can use sacred conversations to become your best self and build closer relationships with others and with the Lord.
At this meeting, we will discuss chapters 1 - 3. To sign-up for the Friendship Group, receive the meeting link, and discussion questions, go to https://mailchi.mp/sophiainstitute/friendship-groups Questions? Contact Mary Beth Bracy at mbracy@sophiainstitute.com
