2023 DIOCESAN DIRECTORY DELAYED

Greetings from the NCC Office

We wanted to let you know that we will be delaying the printing of the 2023 Diocesan Directory due to the changes with parish email addresses. We will be printing the directory in June once all changes have been made. After talking with Bishop LaValley, he agreed that it would be ok to delay the printing so that it would be more up to date with any changes that may occur. I will start sending out notifications to everyone in April to start reviewing their information at that time.

EUCHARISTIC REVIVAL RESOURCES:

Here is a link for a downloadable Advent Prayer from the Eucharistic Revival for the first week of Advent.

Our Lady of Guadalupe Leads Us to the Eucharist

The Virgin of Guadalupe is invoked as not only the patroness of the Americas and the unborn, but also of the Knights of Columbus. Coinciding with the National Eucharistic Revival, the Knights of Columbus has just released a new short film, Our Lady of Guadalupe: Woman of the Eucharist.

“This powerful and moving film shows how Catholics encounter Christ through prayer and devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe,” said Supreme Knight Patrick Kelly. “Mary was completely focused on Our Lord with ever greater devotion. To imitate her and to be devoted to her as Mother of our Lord and our mother is a sure way to greater love of the eucharistic Lord, who gave up his life for the world.

ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP:

for the January 21/22 Bulletin

Winter is the best time of year to reduce your carbon footprint, as it is the season when we use the greatest amount of fossil fuels. Home heating oil along with propane and natural gas are our biggest sources of CO2 emission in winter. Reducing our heating needs is a major hurdle in the fight against climate change. Sealing every drafty crack around windows and doors and lowering the thermostat slightly, especially at night, can help conserve thermal energy. Sleeping with another blanket or quilt on the bed can produce just as much warmth as having the bedroom a few degrees higher.

ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP:

for the January 28/29 Bulletin

In the midst of our troubled and hurting world we are reminded in the quote from Leonard Cohen, ''There is a crack in everything; that is how the light gets in." As we begin this week, let us pray that we find a way to allow God’s light to shine in us by embracing one new concrete practice of good stewardship of the earth’s resources. A good starting point might be: only use what I need.
