Respect Life Christ our Hope

The annual Respect Life Program is a year-round, nationwide effort to help Catholics understand, value, and become engaged with building a culture that cherishes every human life.

Thankful for the opportunity to host Students for Life, in our diocese for two days: May 17th at IHC in Watertown and May 18th at St. Bernard's in Saranac Lake. Both days featured Kate Maloney, Northeast Regional Coordinator for Students for Life. Saturday’s Teen LIFE Day included presentations by Kathleen Gallagher (NYS Catholic Conference), Dr. Jan Patterson (Gianna of Albany), Nancy Belzile (Silent No More/40 Days for Life) and Kitty St Denis (Plattsburgh Pregnancy Center). #prolifegen

Students at the Diocesan Youth Rally visited the Respect Life table to spiritually adopt a baby in danger of abortion. The students were invited to name their child and pray for the baby for 9 months. Each received Archbishop Fulton Sheen's Spiritual Adoption Prayer and entered the baby's name in the "Book of Life" which was presented at closing Mass. Some students were creative and used their name tags as baby holders: Sydney and Ciara LeRoy (Malone), Hannah Belknap (Hammond), Maggie Marceau (Malone), Liam O'Neil (Massena).

New York’s Safe Haven Law - You may leave your baby, up to 30 days old, with any responsible person at a suitable location in New York. In New York, no one ever has to abandon a child again.
