THE CATHOLIC FAMILY: God's Answer for our Time
The Catholic Family is a countercultural sign witnessing the love and light of Christ to the world.
This one-day event for families: men, women and teens is intended to help us be the salt and light in our communities. As we are strengthened in our own faith and learn how much we are loved by God, we in turn will become signs of hope, faith and love for those around us.
This powerful event is for everyone in the diocese! That means YOU! There will be sessions for adults, as well as evening tracks for teenagers.
Our keynote speaker will be Johnnette Benkovic Williams, who, together with Thomas Sullivan and Sue Brinkman will present us with strategies for living our faith out loud so that we may be beacons of hope in a noisy and confused world.
The day will include Morning Prayer, presentations, Mass with Bishop LaValley, special evening presentations for teens, and will conclude with a Healing Rosary service.

YOUTH LEAD: 2018 Leadership Weekend
Jesus calls us to, "Love one another as I have loved you" John 13:34
We are presented with opportunities to "love one another" all the time, yet it can be difficult to recognize these moments through all the noise and interference that exist in today's world. Even when we recognize the moments to “love one another,” to become “Disciple Leaders,” we may not know how or why we should do so.
Join us on this weekend of faith, fellowship and fun as we learn about Jesus's love for us and how we can grow to become "Disciple Leaders" in our homes, communities, schools and work.
This year's retreat location will be held at Guggenheim on the weekend of September 28-30
The ticket price for this all-inclusive retreat is $70.00 *Workshops, meals, and accommodations, included*

ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP
(for the October 7/8 Bulletin)
As we celebrated St. Francis of Assisi’ Feast this month, we recalled how he saw the integral connectedness of all creation as reflected in his “Canticle of Brother Sun.” Our call this month to respect life invites us to contemplate the beauty of ALL life. However, we tend to protect and preserve what we have experienced as goodness, truth and beauty. In the beauty and fruitfulness of this Fall season, what are you most grateful for? How might you express your gratitude to God for the earth that provides us all with life each day?
NEW
ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP
(for the October 13/14 Bulletin)
Respect life calls us to treat the earth as if your life depends upon it, because it does! (Genesis 2:15) Pope Francis calls us to show mercy not only to each other but to the earth. “A true ecological approach always becomes a social approach…so as to hear BOTH the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor.” (Laudato Si On Care for Our Common Home. #49) How do you see these connected in your life? What is one act you could do this week to respect life?
