Faith, Ecology, Laudato Si, and MORE!

I think most of us if not all of us are well aware of the effect humanity is having on our planet. We see the reports on global warming and the warning from the Scientific community that if we do not change our consumptive behavior, we will not have a sustainable world to live in. We are also aware of the toll taken on humanity itself when we witness natural and manmade catastrophe's destroying lives and displacing our brothers and sisters around the globe. The very definition of Ecology is "the relationship of living organisms to the environment they live in". Ecology is more than being nice to the earth it's about respecting the ultimate gift given to us by God. That is the gift of "Life" itself.

This year the Youth Department has put together 2 unique opportunities for youth grades 7 to 12 to learn, have fun and become empowered to be “Shepard’s of the Earth.” Each location will offer a different opportunity for young people to engage nature, each other and their faith. The emphasis of each retreat is “learning through interactive fun”. That means, they will have a great time learning about their gifts and strengths and how they can use them to lead others in caring for our precious home, Earth.

Retreat fee is $25.00 per location and includes lunch and admission. Feel free to attend any or both of the retreats!
