PLANNED GIVING: Buy a New Life Insurance Policy

Some people find they can make a much larger gift than they could otherwise afford by taking out a life insurance policy and name our parish, Catholic school, the Diocese, a Mission Project of the Diocese or a Ministry/Program of the Diocese as beneficiary.  If you name any of the above as owner and beneficiary, the premiums you pay will be deductible on your income tax.  It’s a way to make a large gift on the “installment plan.”

For more inforamation, contact: Scott Lalone, Executive Director, Development Office 393-2920, slalone@rcdony.org.

ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP: Creation Care Tips

for the July 16/17 Bulletin

Pope Benedict spoke often in his encyclicals of a certain “reciprocity” between God and our care for creation. This concept is further developed in Laudato Si’. As we care for the environment, we encounter God. In this encounter, we are moved to care for this precious gift through little daily actions. i.e. reducing our trash, turning off air conditioning and fans when not in use, replacing household cleaning products with ‘green ones.’ Just in case you think small things don’t matter, try sleeping with a mosquito in your room!

NFP AWARENESS WEEK JULY 24-30, 2022: Called to the Joy of Love
NFP Awareness Week, an annual educational campaign of the USCCB, invites everyone to discover the wise design of God for sexuality and married love. The Natural Family Planning Office mails posters and educational materials to all parishes; additional copies upon request.  Download additional bulletin inserts and bulletin briefs and homily helps by clicking the links.

"CALLED TO THE JOY OF LOVE." This theme for National NFP Awareness Week , July 24-30, invites all to discover how Natural Family Planning supports God's gifts of love and life in marriage. In THE JOY OF LOVE (AL, 222), Pope Francis specifically calls attention to these healthy, effective, morally acceptable, and truly organic approaches to family planning. He writes, "They are to be promoted, since these methods respect the bodies of the spouses, encourage tenderness between them, and favor the education of an authentic freedom." To hear from couples who know from experience that this is true, go to www.rcdony.org/nfp. To learn more, please contact the NFP Office, apietropaoli@rcdony.org or at 518-483-0459.
