What is the Memorare Legacy Society?
It honors and recognizes the generosity and vision of those who have chosen to leave a legacy to the Diocese of Ogdensburg, Catholic
Parish or School, or Diocesan Ministry/Programs or Missionary Projects of the Diocese through estate or deferred gifts.
Who Qualifies for Membership?
One
qualifies for membership by designating a portion of his or her assets to pass at death to the Diocese, Catholic Parish or School, or Diocesan Ministry/Programs or Missionary Projects of the Diocese. These gifts may be accomplished
by a simple statement that you have remembered the Church in your Will or similar document such as a trust, life insurance policy, charitable gift annuity, designation of an IRA or 401(k) or any other more complex transaction.
Members are welcomed but not required to disclose the specific amount of the gift and the specific beneficiary.
What Does Membership in The Memorare Legacy Society Mean?
Members receive special recognition and may participate in an annual gathering to celebrate their generosity. Members’ names will not be made public unless they specifically give their consent to do so.
Why Have The Memorare Legacy Society?
Many people are not aware of the great impact of stewardship generosity in our Diocese. Through The Memorare Legacy Society such generosity is made public, thereby encouraging
others to consider a similar gift.
How Does a Person Join The Memorare Legacy Society?
By filling out and submitting the Membership Form. Several
of you probably already qualify and have left your Parish or School, or Diocesan Ministry/Programs or Missionary Projects of the Diocese or the Diocese in your will or currently have a charitable gift annuity with us. Feel free
to call (315-393-2920) if you have any questions.
