ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP
(for the September 24/25 Bulletin)
Did you know that Pope Francis urged us in his message on World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation (Sept. 1) to show mercy not only to each other but to the earth? He has included care of our common home to the other corporal and spiritual works of mercy. “A true ecological approach always becomes a social approach….so as to hear BOTH the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor. “Laudato Si #49 How do you see these connected in your life?

ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP
(for the October 1/2 Bulletin)
As we celebrate the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi this year, we recall how he realized the integral connectedness with all of creation. In his Canticle of Brother Sun he saw the sun, moon, wind, birds and wolves, lepers and all people as companions on life’s journey. “As a spiritual work of mercy, care for our common home calls for a grateful contemplation of God's world. (Pope Francis) What is your experience of God's world?

HOST FAMILIES NEEDED
We are looking for hosts who can provide a caring, supportive home away from home.
Hosting an international student can be a very rewarding experience! Our host families and students build life-long relationships and give one another the experience of a lifetime.
Here are just a few of the things you need to know:
You will need to provide meals throughout the week and weekend (students receive lunch at school)
You will need to provide transportation to/from school and extra-curricular activities (busing and carpooling maybe an option)
Students are required to pay for anything outside of basic living expenses. “Basic living expenses” include shelter, heat, food, transportation, fuel, love & care. Students will use their own money for items such as lunch at the mall, going to the movies, purchasing books, going out with friends, mini-vacations, etc.
There is a stipend for room and board.
