CELEBRATE CHRIST: Called to Lead

Leadership is a vital factor in the implementation of our diocesan priorities: creating a culture of vocations, engaging families in the faith formation of their children and providing age appropriate opportunities for our youth leading to their encounter with Christ and His Church. Plan to attend Celebrate Christ 2017 at the Crowne Plaza in Lake Placid on Saturday, October 21. Chris Lowney, well known author on topics of leadership, is the keynote speaker. His presentation Leadership Lessons from Pope Francis: Doing the Laundry, Dusty Shoes and the Monastery Bell will encourage us and support our efforts to carry out the diocesan priorities. Registration information is available on our diocesan website http://www.rcdony.org/celebrate or by calling the Western Regional Faith Formation Office at (315) 782-3620. Registration for the event is required and must be made by September 29.

ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP

(for the October 21/22 Bulletin)

An  Easy Way to Save Money and Energy while Putting  Pope Francis’ Laudato Si into Action:Start replacing just five incandescent lamps with LEDs this month, and replace a couple more each month until your home or business is 100% complete. LEDs contain no Mercury, can last up to 25 times longer than incandescent bulbs and they are recyclable.

NEW

ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP

(for the October 28/29 Bulletin)

Some easy ways to save money and energy while putting Pope Francis’ Laudato Si into Action:*Create a green team…infect everyone in your home or business with an attitude of conservation. Adjust timers to accommodate daylight saving and the changing seasons. Burning just two 100 watt light bulbs on your porch for only an extra hour every day wastes about $11 per year. That doesn’t sound like much unless you start countering how many lights you have throughout your home that are burning unnecessarily.
