FROM THE eNOTES EDITOR:

NEW

eNOTES: Changes and Early Submission Date for Thanksgiving

Starting with the NEXT issue of eNotes, rather than sending the content of eNotes in each email, we will send the link to the webpage where the issue is posted. This reduces preparation time, makes eNotes more readable and facilitates corrections that occasionally need to be made.

Also, because of the Thanksgiving Holiday, the eNotes submissions are due early for the next issue.  Please submit any notices for the November 23rd edition of eNotes (with bulletin information for the weekends of December 3 and 10) by WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 15.  We will post this issue by end of day on November 16.

If you have any concerns or questions, please email mdonders@rcdony.org.  Thank you

NOTICES FOR BULLETINS:

Bulletin Editors: Please add these notices to your parish bulletin(s).  You can simply cut the text and paste it in your bulletin.

ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP

(for the November 18/19 Bulletin)

“Celebrate recycling”! Now that Halloween is over lets think about donating those costumes to a local thrift shop, reuse centers or drop off locations. As long as fabrics are clean, dry and odorless they can be recycled into products such as insulation or carpet padding. A good tip from NYS Department of Environmental Conservation.

ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP

(for the November 25/26 Bulletin)

Interested in learning how to save energy? Did you know monitors for computers use twice as much energy as the computer. So turn off those monitors as well as shutting down your computer. Consider a laptop for less energy use and reduce the brightness of your computer screen. Check the tips for lowering your energy bills from a pamphlet that New York State Senator Patty Ritchie has available.

PLANNED GIVING: Don’t leave your estate plans for the government to decide!

If you don’t have a Will, the state will determine guardianship for your children and where your assets will be distributed.  The state will not consider leaving a gift for this parish.  Your gift to your loved ones is to decide now what you want to happen upon your death.
