ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP

(for the March 25/26 Bulletin)

Continuing our Lenten Practice for a “low carb/on diet” to reduce the carbon CO2 in our air: think about maximizing energy efficiency in our homes. We can ask to have an audit by an energy expert provided by the utility that heats your home. Examine your major appliances by replacing any 10 year old refrigerators with new Energy Star models that could reduce CO2 emissions by more than 500 pounds per year. Check into weatherizing some portion of your house (insulating walls, attics, foundations, window replacement; or weather stripping and leak sealing).
