NFP WEEK 2018/ RESOURCES
NFP Awareness Week, an annual educational initiative of the USCCB, will be observed this year from July 22-28. This year’s theme, “Generations of Love,” honors the 50th anniversary of Humanae Vitae and calls everyone to celebrate and reverence God’s vision for human sexuality and married love. As in years past, the NFP Office is mailing posters and educational materials to all parishes. We appreciate your help in promoting this effort.

Please insert the following message into your bulletins and announce at Masses:
“The Diocesan Altar Server Mass and Picnic with Bishop LaValley will be held on Friday, August 17th in Ogdensburg. Sign-in begins at 11:00, followed by brief presentations, with Mass at the Cathedral, celebrated by Bishop LaValley, beginning at 12:00. The picnic will be held in the backyard of the Bishop’s Residence following mass, with games, fellowship, tours of the Bishop’s house, and an all-around great time! It will end with a closing prayer at 3:00. All Altar Servers and their families are encouraged to attend! If interested, contact [Chosen Point Person] to register, no later than Friday, August 4th.”
Also attached is a poster for Parish bulletin boards, etc.
Please designate a point person and ask them to be in contact with Cathy Russell as soon as possible to receive the required forms. We will need to have a number of attendees by August 4th, to allow for proper preparation. Each parish will be responsible for collecting the forms required and presenting them upon arrival at the event.
A basic schedule of the day will be:

12:00 - Mass with the Bishop
1:00 - Start Eating/Cycle through Tours of the Bishop’s House

Many travelers use the Masstimes.org website to find parishes, mass times and other information near them. Parishes often remember to update their websites with new mass schedules but forget to update their listing on Masstimes.org. If you have not checked your listing in a while, go to www.masstimes.org, enter your town or zip code to find you parish and and update the listing if necessary.

Please join the Knights of Columbus from around the Diocese for the 25th annual bus trip to St. Anne's (Mother of Mary) Shrine, Isle of La Motte, Vermont on July 21st and 22nd. Departure from Watertown at 9 AM Saturday and return Sunday around 9 PM. Traveling north on Route 11 and can pick up along the way. The cost is $150.00 per son. NFP AWARENESS WEEK JULY 22-28: USCCB annual initiative to increase awareness of God's plan for married love.
July 22-28 marks National NFP Awareness Week, an annual invitation to consider the beauty of God's plan for sex, love, and marriage. "Like so many other people who have made the switch to Natural Family Planning," writes Jennifer Fulwiler, "I simply couldn't be okay with any form of sterilization any more, whether temporary or permanent. In that place deep in the heart where the most important truths about our humanity reside, I know as surely as I know anything else that those Catholic teachings about human sexuality are true and good." A PILGRIMAGE TO WESTERN NEW YORK WITH BISHOP LAVALLEY

PLANNED GIVING: Capital Campaign
The Diocesan-wide It’s Our Church, It’s Our Future Capital Campaign will soon be upon us. The Diocese has set a $16 million goal, which will include $1.3 million for the 2018 Bishop’s Fund Appeal. Of the funds raised, 75% will remain at the Parish for local needs such as programs and capital improvements. The remaining 25% benefits the entire Diocese supporting Retired Priests, Seminarians, Camp Guggenheim and St. Mary’s Cathedral. Please prayerfully consider a gift to support our Church of the North Country. You will be receiving materials regarding the Campaign in the coming weeks.
