OCP PARISH GRANTS PROGRAM: Attention Pastors and Parish Musicians
As part of OCP’s ongoing commitment to service, the provide direct financial assistance to Roman Catholic parishes across the United States through our annual OCP Parish Grants program. Since its inception in 2001, we have provided nearly $2.8 million in support of parishes looking to enhance their worship experience. OCP is accepting applications through May 30, 2019 for grants to be used for liturgical and/or musical purposes.
The OCP Parish Grants program is a unique program of direct financial grants authorized by the OCP Board of Directors to assist parishes seeking to enhance the worship experience of their parish community. Grants are awarded annually, and the number and amounts given vary from year to year. It was established as a means of providing Catholic churches with financial support for religious, educational and charitable purposes.
Parish Grant applications are open to: Roman Catholic parishes located within the 50 US states that did not receive an OCP Parish Grant in 2018. Recipients of a Parish Grant must use the money for liturgical and/or musical purposes.
Parish Grants are commonly used for:
Improving multicultural ministries with additional training and purchasing of bilingual worship materials
Providing online, digital or electronic resources to support liturgy preparation
Upkeep, repair and replacement of musical instruments, equipment and facilities
Purchasing music, hymnals and other worship materials
Attending or hosting musical or liturgical conferences or workshops
All applicants will be notified of the results of their application. Award decisions are at OCP’s sole discretion, and all decisions are final. Recipients of an OCP grant must comply with any and all applicable laws and regulations in connection with the grant and the funded project. In order to protect your privacy, any information shared with OCP in connection to the grants program will be used to process your application and will not be shared with anybody else, unless or except as authorized by you, the applicant. This grant program is void outside of the U.S. and where prohibited by law. Recipients must allow for public announcement of their award by OCP and be willing to share their experiences through OCP publications and other media.
Applications are only accepted online at www.ocp.org/parish-grants. See the same link for more information or call 1-800-LITURGY (548-8749)

ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP
(for the February 9/10 Bulletin)
Dewitt Jones, former photographer for National Geographic, tells us to “Celebrate what is right with the world, and it will energize you to fix what is wrong with the world.” In the midst of winter what is there to celebrate? In the book of Daniel, Chapter 3, we hear the three young men, even in the midst of their peril, found something to sing about. “Ice and snow, bless the Lord: Frost and cold, bless the Lord…” What do you find in winter to celebrate that will energize you to fix what is wrong with the way we are treating “our common Home?” Laudato Si. Savor that reflective moment.

ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP
(for the February 16/17 Bulletin)
Martin Luther King had a “dream for America.” Thomas Berry, Passionist priest and author, tells us that we need a new “dream” for the earth. Scriptures urge us to be good stewards of the earth. What is your dream for the earth and all that dwell there? What will you do this week to honor that dream?

PLANNED GIVING: Give Your House and Continue to Live There
You may want to make a major gift to our parish. Why not consider real estate: This is called a life estate gift. This simply means that you give a piece of real estate, such as your residence, to our parish, obtain a charitable income tax deduction and retain the right to live there as long as you want. This arrangement removes the property from your estate and relieves your executor from having to dispose of your home at your death. Contact Scott Lalone at the Diocese at 315-393-2920 or Email slalone@rcdony.org for further information
These are parish and other local events that may be of interest to your parishioners. If you would like to share them in your parish bulletin, you can simply cut and paste the text under the "Description."
