eNOTES SUBMISSIONS: please use the submission form.

Please use the eNotes submission form when submitting material for eNotes. The form can be found on on the eNotes page (www.rcdony.org/enotes) in the left hand column.  By using the submission form, the material submitted is sent to a dedicated folder so that is doesn't get lost amidst regular emails, junk mail, etc. The submission form also allows you to upload flyers or images which will create an online link so others can download flyers. We have been receiving a large number of submissions via direct email which creates extra work for the editor (such as finding the email, uploading images and sometimes contacting the submitter for missing information, etc.). Also, when submitting a notice to eNotes, please fill out the Description portion as you would like the notice to read, and include all pertinent information such as location, date, time, ticket and contact information. Thank you for your assistance. If you have any questions, please email Marika Donders at mdonders@rcdony.org.

ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP

(for the February 25/26 Bulletin)

Taking Care of our “Common Home.” The average U.S. household produces about 4.5 pounds of solid waste per day. About a third of it is packaging used only to get the item to your home. Every pound of solid waste that goes to the landfill generates 2 lbs. of greenhouse gases. Suggestions to reduce packaging: bring your own cloth bags when shopping, buy in bulk, purchase items with the least packing, and buy reusable items. Simple actions can have a lasting effect on our
‘common home.”

NEW

ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP

(for the March 4/5  Bulletin)

Taking care of the precious gift of water. Some suggestions to reduce the amount of water used for dishwashing, DISHWASHER – use only when you have a full load; scrape off food, but rinse only if necessary for your washer. Use the energy –saving setting to dry dishes. (“AIR dry” rather than “heat dry.”) HANDWASHING –Wash dishes in a pan of hot soapy water. Fill a second pan with rinsing dishes; this saves not only the amount of water used when left running, but also the energy needed to heat the water.

PLANNED GIVING: MEMORARE LEGACY SOCIETY

Have you already or have been thinking about leaving a legacy by designating a portion of your assets to pass at death to the Diocese of Ogdensburg, your parish or school or diocesan program or organization? The Memorare Legacy Society honors and recognizes the generosity and vision of those who have chosen to leave a legacy to the Diocese of Ogdensburg through estate or deferred gifts.  Members of this society are those who have informed the Diocese of a planned gift that, in the future, will benefit the Diocese of Ogdensburg or any of its parishes or programs. This ensures a continuous commitment of care to their Church, to the Church’s vision and to the charitable works that flow from her missions through their thoughtful planned gift. For more information on the Memorare Legacy Society, contact: Scott Lalone, Executive Director, Development Office 393-2920, slalone@rcdony.org.
