ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP

(for the Feb 10/11 Bulletin)

Looking for a Lenten practice? One practice that could embrace the three-fold prescription for personal growth that Jesus gives us on Ash Wednesday (Mt. 6: 1-6, 16-18) is Christian simplicity. Choosing simplicity as a goal this lent can help us reorient our hearts and find treasure that will never perish. Spend some time with Jesus and consider: what is one way I can simplify my live that would enable others to simply live.

NEW

ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP

(for the February 17/18 Bulletin)

Jesus suggests that too many possessions – too much attachment to possessions- can distraction us from the reign of God (Luke 6:20-25). The virtue of simplicity means setting limits that reflect the values of our faith by not being excessive or wasteful in using God’s creation. Notice this week how you might reduce the amount of water in your daily routine.. .in the bathroom, in the kitchen, in the workplace. Using only what I need can be an act of love and respect for God’s creation and to those who share it.

NEW

PLANNED GIVING: Make a Will

Good Christian Stewardship would call for the orderly disposition of our worldly goods.  If you do not make a Will, the State will do so and it may not be according to your wishes.

For further information about planned giving, contact Scott Lalone, Executive Director of Development/Foundation at the Diocese of Ogdensburg at 315-393-2920 or slalone@rcdony.org.
