Priests, deacons, men and women religious, lay ministers, and those involved in vocations, formation, or clergy and ministry personnel needs.

Reflection Questions:
Questions for reflection and discussion prior to the learning session are provided below.
1.How have traumatic experiences affected my ability to help others heal?
2.Do I feel prepared to deal with terrorism and trauma in my ministry?
3.How can I draw on my own faith and the faith of others to help us all face and heal from
trauma?

ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP

(for the August 27/28 Bulletin)

Did you know that keeping your tires properly inflated can save an estimated 2 billion gallons of gas each year? In addition to keeping tires trim, make sure to get regular tune-ups and filter changes—proactive maintenance will help you burn less gas while saving you from car trouble.  Burning less gas is a way that we can be stewards of God’s creation by saving natural resources and limiting air pollution for a cleaner, safer, environment.

ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP

(for the September 3/4 Bulletin)

In his Encyclical on the Environment, Pope Francis said, “Yet access to safe drinkable water is a basic and universal human right, since it is essential to human survival.”  You can help conserve water by avoiding buying new “water-intensive” products such as cotton, electronics, and paper which all require a lot of water in their production. Also try buying used clothing and recycled paper whenever possible. In doing so, we can be stewards of the Earth and conserve water for our spiritual brothers and sisters who don’t have access to safe drinking water.

HOST FAMILIES NEEDED

We are looking for hosts who can provide a caring, supportive home away from home.
Hosting an international student can be a very rewarding experience! Our host families and students build life-long relationships and give one another the experience of a lifetime.
Here are just a few of the things you need to know:
You will need to provide meals throughout the week and weekend (students receive lunch at school)
You will need to provide transportation to/from school and extra-curricular activities (busing and carpooling maybe an option)
Students are required to pay for anything outside of basic living expenses. “Basic living expenses” include shelter, heat, food, transportation, fuel, love & care. Students will use their own money for items such as lunch at the mall, going to the movies, purchasing books, going out with friends, mini-vacations, etc.
There is a stipend for room and board.
For more information call or email Jodi Ramos at 315-788-4670 or jodi.ramos@ihcschools.org
