Since it has been a bit hectic around the office, I am recycling a post from 2015.  It is a wonderful little book that I use frequently for opening and closing prayers for presentations I give.  

 

 

The format of the book is perfect - about 4 1/2 by 6 inches: small enough to fit in a pocket, or to toss in with your phone and keys. And the content is awesome as well. The book is subdivided into sections: Prayers to the Holy Trinity; Prayers to Jesus, Way, Truth and Life; Prayers to Mary, Queen of Apostles;  Praying with St Paul;Prayers for Those Engaged in the New Evangelization; Evangelizing in a Communications Culture; The World of God; The Holy Eucharist;and  Prayers of Reconciliation and Forgiveness. Each section is preceded by a short explanation of the appropriateness to pray to in the name of the Trinity or to Mary or with St. Paul, etc.

 

The prayers in this book are like little gems lighting the way to come to know Jesus better so we can share him with all those we meet. There are prayers for the use media, prayers for creating media, prayers to become a better instrument to be able to communicate Christ. There are one hundred different prayers in all, for every evangelization need.   

 

One thing that struck me was the title. Live Christ! Give Christ! It reminded me of our mutually shared vision for the diocese: Christ Led, Christ Fed and Hope Filled. I think this little prayer book can become a small tool to assist us in realizing our diocesan goals. I know that as Director of the New Evangelization I will be using this prayer book in my ministry.  I highly recommend it to anyone who would like to come to know Christ better and to share him with others.
