Diocesan Vision for Parish Youth Ministry
In Bishop LaValley's pastoral letter, "Find Your Home in Christ", one of the goals outlined is to "[e]stablish Youth Ministry, in accordance with diocesan standards...with competent, qualified leaders (adult and youth)." In response to this, a committee met and created The Diocesan Vision for Parish Youth Ministry. This document includes guidelines for developing youth ministry, an overview of essential element of youth ministry, an overview of the Youth Ministry Certification Program, sample job descriptions for youth ministers, and sample youth ministry programs/resources. The document is not one model of youth ministry, but rather, it offers resources and information to be used in a variety of youth ministry settings.
