New York State Catholic Conference 2021 End-of-Session Round-Up

Thank you for your support of the NYS Catholic Action Network. We appreciate your action on several bills throughout the session. Here are updates on legislation of interest to the New York State Catholic Conference.

Physician-assisted suicide bills in New York, like similar bills that have passed in several other states, lack important safeguards, making coercion or misapplication of the law a serious threat.

*UPDATE ON PHYSICIAN ASSISTED SUICIDE IN NYS: Sen. Diane Savino (D-Staten Island) introduced the Senate version of the PAS bill on April 30th. The bill (S.6471-Savino/A.4321-A-Paulin) has not been considered at the committee level in the Senate or Assembly. This year’s legislative session ends June 10th. Please contact your representative to voice your opposition.
