Physician-assisted suicide bills in New York, like similar bills that have passed in several other states, lack important safeguards, making coercion or misapplication of the law a serious threat.
*UPDATE ON PHYSICIAN ASSISTED SUICIDE IN NYS: Sen. Diane Savino (D-Staten Island) introduced the Senate version of the PAS bill on April 30th. The bill (S.6471-Savino/A.4321-A-Paulin) has not been considered at the committee level in the Senate or Assembly. This year’s legislative session ends June 10th.
