PLANNED GIVING: Creating a Legacy of Love

The following are steps to make your life is in order before God calls you:

  1. Draft a Will.
  2. Leave enough liquid cash in an obvious location to sustain your survivors to pay your expenses of your estate.
  3. Plan your own funeral.
  4. Leave no financial debt.
  5. Write your own obituary.
  6. Organize your records.
  7. Choose a time to openly discuss these plans with loved ones.

ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP:

for the August 21/22 Bulletin

Summertime seems to lure us outdoors to grow in an ever deeper and loving relationship with planet earth and all its inhabitants. As children we shared what was perhaps a small home; now we share a planet one that is charged with wonder; and one that we are charged with a task to protect and repair.

ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP:

for the August 28/29 Bulletin

“Stop for a moment. Look! Let a tiny aspect of nature come into focus. Admire. Notice peace and joy within you. Sense the mystery. When enriched move on, only to return later. Gradually the doors of your perception are cleansed: you see beyond, and glimpse the divine source.” Finding God in a Leaf: the Mysticism of Laudato Si by Brian Grogan, SJ (pg. 34)

200329 mary

Mary Immaculate, our Mother and our Patroness,
we ask you to intercede for us with your Son,
as you did at the wedding in Cana.

Pray for us, loving Mother,
and gain for our diocese, our nation and our world,
for our families and loved ones,
the protection of your Maternal mantle from this dreaded virus.

In this time of trial and testing,
teach all of us to love one another and to be patient and kind.
Help us to bring the peace and healing Presence of Jesus to our land and to our hearts.

We come to you with confidence,
knowing that you are our compassionate mother,
health of the sick and cause of our joy.
Keep us in the embrace of your arms,
Help us always to know the love of your Son, Jesus our Lord.

AMEN.

SEEKING HOUSE DIRECTOR AND COMMUNITY: Our Lady of the Adirondacks House of Prayer

Have you ever wished you could live in community with others who love God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit? Are you someone who loves Mary, are excited by the lives of the saints, who knows that building the kingdom means now but are not quite sure how you are called? Are you someone who is gentle and trustworthy, not given to addictions or vice, hard-working and still active… someone who trusts God in all things, is wise in the things that are important, and takes great joy in the Roman Catholic faith? Perhaps you or someone you know would be a good resident at Our Lady of the Adirondacks House of Prayer, located in Ellenburg Center, NY. Or perhaps you are already part of a small community which is looking for a home and a mission. Come and visit us and see if the contemplative-active life is for you. A word of caution... the House of Prayer is very rural and isolated especially in the winter. As of the present moment, there is no community living there, but the Board of Directors is actively looking for 3-5 people, including a House Director, to live on its premises and help keep this Marian treasure vibrant within the North Country for all. Please call 518-534-9976 (Sarah) or 518-518-578-6949 (Jeanette) for more information.
