The Development Office of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Ogdensburg was established to provide financial support for Parishes, Catholic Schools, Ministries & Programs of the Diocese and Missionary Projects of the Diocese. This is accomplished by a variety of giving vehicles/programs such as:
The Diocese of Ogdensburg Mission Statement for Stewardship:
"Stewardship is an expression of discipleship, with the power to change how we understand and live our lives. Disciples who practice true Stewardship recognize God as the origin of life, the gift of freedom, the source of all they
have and are and will be. They are grateful for what they have received and eager to cultivate their gifts out of love for God and one another."
A Way of Life
Established in 1995 by Bishop Paul S. Loverde to assist in funding certain extraordinary needs of the Diocese and to enhance the heritage handed down to us, the Bishop’s Heritage Circle continues to grow under the leadership of
Bishop Terry R. LaValley.
Each member must be a practicing Catholic or the spouse of a practicing Catholic. It is expected that the individual or couple will have made and will continue to make generous contributions to their local Parish, the Diocese and the Universal Church.
Membership is attained by a minimum gift of $2,500 for the first two years, then $1,000 each consecutive year. Typical needs requested by Bishop LaValley are the Special Care of Priests, the Education of Seminarian Endowment Fund and Capital improvements/needs of the Bishop’s Residence.
Since its inception, over $415,000 has be generously contributed to assist the extraordinary needs. There are currently have 19 households (29 active members). For more information contact the Development Office at 315-393-2920 or email email@example.com.
What is the Memorare Legacy Society?
It honors and recognizes the generosity and vision of those who have chosen to leave a legacy to the Diocese of Ogdensburg, Catholic Parish or School, or Diocesan Ministry/Programs or Missionary Projects of the Diocese through estate or deferred gifts.
Who Qualifies for Membership?
One qualifies for membership by designating a portion of his or her assets to pass at death to the Diocese, Catholic Parish or School, or Diocesan Ministry/Programs or Missionary Projects of the Diocese. These gifts may be accomplished by a simple statement that you have remembered the Church in your Will or similar document such as a trust, life insurance policy, charitable gift annuity, designation of an IRA or 401(k) or any other more complex transaction. Members are welcomed but not required to disclose the specific amount of the gift and the specific beneficiary.
What Does Membership in The Memorare Legacy Society Mean?
Members receive special recognition and may participate in an annual gathering to celebrate their generosity. Members’ names will not be made public unless they specifically give their consent to do so.
Why Have The Memorare Legacy Society?
Many people are not aware of the great impact of stewardship generosity in our Diocese. Through The Memorare Legacy Society such generosity is made public, thereby encouraging others to consider a similar gift.
How Does a Person Join The Memorare Legacy Society?
By filling out and submitting the Membership Form. Several of you probably already qualify and have left your Parish or School, or Diocesan Ministry/Programs or Missionary Projects of the Diocese or the Diocese in your will or currently have a charitable gift annuity with us. Feel free to call (315-393-2920) or e-mail me back for a brochure or if you have any questions.
